Emergency services were called to a two-car crash on the A64 between York and Malton this afternoon.
Police were alerted to the incident, at 12.27pm at Barton Hill, via automated in-car messaging known as vehicle telematics, which said a car was on fire.
Officers contacted the fire service who sent crews from Huntington and Malton to the scene.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “On arrival this proved to be a two car road traffic collision involving a Peugeot and a Skoda at on the A64 at Barton on the Hill.”
No one was trapped. Firefighters carried out work to make the scene safe.
