Emergency services are on the scene of a serious crash in Selby this morning (Wednesday).
The collision is on the A19 Selby toll bridge.
First reports suggests a car and a pedestrian are involved. The Yorkshire Air Ambulance has been called.
The crash location
The road is blocked and traffic congestion is severe. There are queues down to Selby High School to the west and along Barlby Road to the east.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We’re currently dealing with a serious road traffic collision in Selby.
“There is currently a full closure in place at the junction with Ousegate, New Street and Water Lane.
“If possible, motorists are advised to avoid the area.”
The AA reports: “Partially blocked and queueing traffic due to crash on A19 New Street both ways at B1223 Water Lane.”
