A café and gym in York city centre has closed.
Supersonic Fitness, part of Stonebow House, has shut and it is now in the process of being cleared out.
It had contacted its members in the last few weeks to let them know the closure was coming.
YorkMix contacted the gym twice to ask about the decision but got no response.
Supersonic Fitness converted what was once the Fibbers live music venue into a state-of-the-art gym and café.
It opened in February 2019. Supersonic was the brainchild of Nick Sadler and Sarah Cleland-Smith from York.
They teamed with partner Jenny Beasley to create what Nick called “a sanctuary ready to welcome you with open arms and support your personal goals for total lifestyle transformation”.
The gym had a full range of equipment and also offered personal training, studio classes, injury rehab and return-to-fitness support.
When it first opened, membership cost between £78 and £128 a month.
Like similar businesses, Supersonic was hit by the Covid pandemic followed by the rise in energy bills and cost of living crisis.
It closed for good on 31 March.
