The heartbroken family of a teenager who died in an incident in Harrogate have paid tribute to their “beautiful, funny, talented boy”.
Seb Mitchell, 17, was injured in an incident in Claro Road in the town on 19 February. He died in hospital two days later.
His grieving family this afternoon released a statement via North Yorkshire Police.
“Seb was our beautiful, funny, talented boy,” they said.
“There are no words to describe how we feel now that he has been so cruelly taken from us.
“We will carry him in our hearts forever.”
A 16-year-old boy has been charged in connection with the incident and is due to appear in court again in the near future.
Meanwhile police have warned people not to speculate about the nature of Seb’s death, now the judicial process is active.
Some social media users have also named the boy who has been charged. That is illegal, as he is under the age of 18 and therefore given anonymity under the law.
“We would therefore strongly urge anyone who has posted comments or photos naming the suspect in the case or speculated about the circumstances, to remove them urgently,” police said.
