Bins were set on fire in the early hours in York today (Saturday).
Firefighters were called to an industrial bin on fire in Lawrence Street at 2.34am.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The York crew extinguished this using a hose reel.
“The cause is thought to have been deliberate after police CCTV was a number of youths in the area prior to the fire starting.”
A few minutes later, at 2.48am, they were called to the nearby Olympian Court to another industrial bin fire.
They put out the flames using a hose reel.
