Have you ever wanted to go behind the scenes of the Grand Opera House? Well now you can!
The creative learning department at Grand Opera House York are bringing some exciting new events to the theatre this year – with guided tours and drama classes.
See the recently refurbished theatre in all its glory while learning about its history. Hear about stars that have graced the stage since 1902 – such as Charlie Chaplin, Laurel and Hardy and Morecambe and Wise.
Tours are an hour long and are limited to 20 places for each tour, and will take place on 19 and 20 January, and 23 and 24 February.
There will also be drama and movement classes available to those aged 55 and over. No experience of dance or theatre is needed – Monday Movers is a space to have fun and explore your creativity.
There is also a Monday Movers class for 2–5-year-olds – where the little ones can get moving with some playful activities that build confidence, curiosity, and social skills.
Space is limited in each of these classes to 10 people per session. The classes will take place on 30 January, and 13 and 27 February.
