A main route into the north of York has been blocked by a serious crash this lunchtime (Wednesday, 11 January).
The A19 is blocked and there is slow traffic in both directions.
The collision is between Shipton by Beningbrough and Skelton.
It was first reported at 11.47am according to the AA.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Emergency services are currently dealing with a serious collision on the A19 between Shipton by Beningbrough and Skelton.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the route until further notice and to follow local diversions.”
