The A1(M) has reopened after a lorry fire.
Traffic was stopped on the northbound carriageway between the junction 44 turn-off for York and junction 45 for Wetherby last night (Monday).
Emergency services were called to the scene at 6.47pm.
All traffic within the closure was released shortly after 10pm and National Highways Yorkshire reported the road had reopened at 12.07am today (Tuesday).
Fire crews from Tadcaster joined their West Yorkshire colleagues tackling the fire.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “This was a fire caused by a blown tyre that set on fire and then spread to the trailer.
“Crews used hose reels, ladders, lighting, working platforms and saws to extinguish the fire and a thermal imaging camera to ensure the fire was out.”
