The new York Tourist Information Centre has now opened, right in the heart of the city.
Formerly housed on Museum Street, the new centre is at to 21 Parliament Street, previously home of Vision Optics, on the corner of Feasegate.
That puts it directly across from the St Nicholas Fayre Christmas market, which is drawing thousands of visitors to York this year.
The move aims to encourage more visitors and residents to utilise the Visitor Information Centre, which has assisted over 150,000 people this year so far.
Following its successful launch earlier this year, the Visit York Information pod at York Station will remain open and has recently extended its operating hours.
The new centre, run by Make It York, will also be on the doorstep of big events next year, including York Residents’ Festival and York Ice Trail coming up in the new year.
