If you’re out and about tonight – do wrap up.
Forecasters are saying there are heavy snow showers on their way during the night (Thursday, 8 December).
Snow has been falling today on the higher parts of North Yorkshire, including the North York Moors.
And according to the BBC weather forecast, York will experience sleet and then “heavy snow showers” as the night wears on.
These look likely to be brief however. And the Met Office has no snow in its forecast for snow tonight – although it agrees with the BBC that temperatures will drop to a chilly -5°C.
It comes as a yellow weather warning for ice remains in place for York and North Yorkshire until noon tomorrow (Friday).
There may be icy patches on untreated roads, pavements and paths – so take it steady.
