A teenager was stabbed in York at the weekend, police confirmed today (Monday).
As YorkMix reported on Saturday night, a police cordon was put in place after the violent incident close to Rowntree Park.
Today a North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “At around 7pm officers were called to the Rowntree Park area where a teenager had suffered a stab wound to their armpit.
“The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.”
A 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the incident.
He was due to appear in court today, charged with wounding, assault and possessing a knife.
YorkMix reported that the Yorkshire Air Ambulance landed near to the Millennium Bridge at about 8pm on Saturday.
The police cordon, which prevented anyone from going down the riverside path close to Rowntree Park, remained in place on Sunday morning.
