Emergency services were called to a lorry fire on the A1M in North Yorkshire overnight.
Fire crews from Ripon and Boroughbridge were called to the southbound carriageway near Dishforth at 9.26pm yesterday (Monday).
The southbound carriageway was closed while they tackled the blaze. National Highways Yorkshire put in diversions for the stuck traffic.
One lane reopened at 2.31am. After the damaged lorry was recovered the remainder of the carriageway was reopened at 6.22am.
The fire service says the cause is still unconfirmed but believed to have possibly started within the refrigeration unit of the trailer.
