This was the scene after a three-car crash on a main Yorkshire road last night.
It happened at 8.20pm last night (Monday) on the A170 Thornton Road at Pickering.
The Pickering fire crew came across the incident as they were returning to the station.
They were then joined at the scene by the Kirkbymoorside crew and Malton crew with their incident support unit.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service said one man was already out of a car uninjured.
Two women had been in a Peugeot involved in the crash, and the passenger was “walking wounded” but the driver was trapped.
“Crews released the driver and she was transported to hospital with leg injuries,” the fire service reported.
“The third vehicle was a Vauxhall Corsa with one female occupant. They were able to walk from the vehicle and were left in hands of paramedics.”
North Yorkshire Police said the road was closed for a couple of hours.
If anyone has any dashcam footage they are asked to forward it to road policing officer PC 1786 Huw Walkey via [email protected].
