A man was treated for head injuries after a fight in York this morning (Tuesday).
Police were called to reports of a disturbance in the area of the Victoria Vaults off Nunnery Lane at around 8am.
They had been contacted by a member of the public who had seen “two men attacking each other”.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The victim suffered head and facial injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
“The two suspects, aged 28 and 34, were arrested a short time later.
“They remain in police custody at this time.”
Today officers had a guard on Victor Street, close to Victoria Bar.
An area of the pavement is taped off next to the railings on the traffic restricted section of the road.

Residents contacted YorkMix to say that seven police vans were in the Nunnery Lane area this morning.
Police were seen to go into the Samaritans building on the street.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses to get in touch.
