A thief threatened to stab a member of staff after being caught stealing items from a York shop.
The perpetrator, a man in his twenties, entered the Londis on Tadcaster Road at 9.15pm last Wednesday (29 June).
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “He removed several items, and proceeded to threaten to stab a member of staff before leaving.

“Thankfully, no injuries were sustained during the incident.
“Police are now requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
“In particular, we are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who can help us identify the suspect.”
The man is described as
- white
- slim
- about 20 to 30 years old
- about 5ft 11in tall
- with short mousy brown hair
- which was slightly curly on top.

He was wearing
- a navy coloured gilet
- a dark coloured T-shirt or polo shirt
- and a pair of dark jogging bottoms with a white line under the knee.
The suspect carried a dark coloured rucksack and a Sainsbury’s carrier bag. He arrived on a white racing bike with black writing.
