Vehicles from six different fire stations were involved in tackling a forest fire in North Yorkshire.
They were called out at 6.09pm last night (Wednesday) to the fire at Langdale End, west of Scarborough.
Crews from Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay, Sherburn and Pickering, along with the water bowser from Tadcaster and the Argocat from Kirkbymoorside were all involved.
The location of the fire
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson described it as “an area of deep seated undergrowth and forestry on fire”.
“Crews have used various lengths of hose, three hose reel jets, knapsack sprayers, pitchforks, rakes and lighting.
“The cause is believed to be a camp fire left unattended.”
Crews will be returning to check on the area today.
