Drag queen Divina De Campo – who starred on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK – is the first act to be announced for the returning York Pride.
This is the first time York Pride will be able to stage its colourful celebration in real life since 2019 – with the past couple of Pride events being virtual due to the pandemic and government restrictions.
This year also marks 50 years since the very first Pride in the UK.
York Pride will take place on the Knavesmire on Saturday 18 June 2022.
Divina De Campo, real name Owen Farrow, starred in the first series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, finishing in second place.
She has also appeared on BBC’s The Voice and All Together Now, and is currently starring as the titular Hedwig in the UK tour of Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
Known for her four-octave range – this performance will surely not be one to miss.
Divina is the first act to be revealed, with more announcements to come.
