A car crashed into a house in Selby today (Tuesday).
It happened on Ousegate. Emergency services were called at 5.42pm.
“Thankfully there were no injuries and enquiries are ongoing around the circumstances of the collision,” said Sgt Paul Cording on Twitter.
The red hatchback knocked down a metal fence and damaged the brickwork of the house.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from Selby responded to reports of a car which had impacted a domestic property causing significant damage.
“No persons were injured and crews assisted the police to make the scene safe using crew power only.”
The incident came at the end of a busy shift for the road policing team and their colleagues in the fire and ambulance services.
They seized a car in Copmanthorpe with a “full house – no insurance, no licence, no MOT, no tax and two defective tyres”.
Then they dealt with a road traffic collision on the A172 near Stokesley.
The occupants were “taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries”.
