A charity has launched in York aiming to make cycling more inclusive and accessible, especially for those with special needs.
York social enterprise Get Cycling has transferred its events business to Everybody’s Cycling.
Get Cycling has supplied an inclusive cycling experience to people in York and beyond for more than 13 years.
Its range of disability and specialist cycles have enabled thousands of customers to get on their bike.
Now though, Get Cycling has consolidated as a bike shop and workshop. While Everybody’s Cycling is the new name for cycling events.
The organisation is financed by more than 90 community shareholders. It offers events and programmes that are fully inclusive, supporting beginners and hesitant cyclists to enjoy cycling in a safe and fun way.
The programmes include bike doctor events, inclusive bike try-outs, pedal-powered attractions for events and business networking and team building days.
Everybody’s Cycling general manager Jessica Shay said: “We are lucky to be a new charity and yet have so much experience in inclusive cycling due to our foundations laid at Get Cycling. Our goal is to enable everybody to experience cycling and enjoy all the benefits that it can bring.”
