The A64 has reopened following a serious crash this morning (Saturday).
The road was closed westbound between the A162 Tadcaster turnoff and and the A1M at junction 44 after a car was involved in collision at about 8.45am.
National Highways described it as a serious crash with the air ambulance called in. Buses were diverted away from the route.
The closure caused serious tailbacks of at least three miles. But at 10.45am the road reopened, and traffic is now flowing freely.
