A serious collision closed the A64 in both directions today.
It was first reported at 1.06pm at West Heslerton, east of Malton, and involved two cars.
North Yorkshire Police said: “Paramedics treated the occupants including two children who were initially thought to have suffered injuries.

“Those involved did not require hospital treatment and the drivers exchanged insurance details.”
The collision closed the A64 in both directions between the B1249 at Willerby and the B1248 near Norton for nearly three hours.

Earlier, North Yorkshire Police tweeted: “Emergency services are currently dealing with serious collision on the A64 near West Heslerton in Ryedale.
“Motorists are urged to avoid the area until further notice or follow the diversions in place.”
Long traffic queues built up, and the Coastliner bus was diverted.
Police said this afternoon: “The road re-opened at 3.55pm once the vehicles were safely recovered and an extensive amount of debris from the collision was cleared from the road surface.”
