Fire crews have been tackling a fire at a pub in York city centre.
Crews from York, Huntington and Acomb were called out to the Hole In The Wall on High Petergate at lunchtime today.
The pub was safely evacuated. The fire broke out in the kitchen – the source was a frier on the cooking range.

Staff used a fire blanket to douse the flames and the fire crews put out the fire, remaining at the scene for a while to check it hadn’t spread. They have now left.
Daniel Walker from the Hole In The Wall said the bar would soon be reopened. But the kitchen would be closed for a while until it had been checked by people from head office.
He said everyone had been evacuated safely and no one hurt.
Fire station manager Tony Walker told YorkMix: “There was a small fire on the cooking range. The flue was checked for fire spread.
“Staff were evacuated quickly and the damage was superficial.”
