Lumo is the name for the latest train service to use the East Coast Main Line through North Yorkshire – but people in Northallerton, Thirsk and even York will not be able to use it!
First Group plan to run a budget service with a single standard class of accommodation between London, Newcastle and Edinburgh from 25 October.
Some 60% of all single fares will be available at a cost of £30 or less.

Lumo will be taking on state-owned LNER and the airlines between Scotland and London but the new service is not allowed to make calls in York and North Yorkshire because of rail competition rules.
These protect certain income streams and we already have Hull Trains, Grand Central and LNER providing links to the capital and Scotland.
So people on York station will see the distinctive blue trains pass by non-stop.
The journey will take approximately four and a half hours, stopping off at Newcastle and the Northumberland town of Morpeth en route.
Some trains will also call at Stevenage in Hertfordshire.
