A stylish store opened its doors for the first time in York today – but there’s nothing new about it.
The Vintage Store is filled with floors of pre-loved fashion.
It is the second shop opened by entrepreneurs Aaron Thornhill and Kane Blythe. They opened the first in their home town of Hull in April, and plan more stores in Newcastle, Nottingham, Leeds and Manchester.

Their York branch is in the former New Look store on Parliament Street. And it was packed out on day one, despite a soft opening with almost no pre-publicity.
“We are vintage. We are definitely not fast fashion. Every single piece is true vintage, has been worn before. And every single one of them is a one-off,” Kane, 26, told YorkMix.
Aaron, 29, said: “It’s giving clothes another chance rather than having to go to landfill. It’s sourced from around the world, in amazing condition just ready to be re-sold.
“There’s a bit of something for everyone, no matter what your style.”
They are hiring – get in touch via their Instagram. “Forget the CV, come and see me,” said Aaron.
