Wednesday update: 429 coronavirus cases confirmed in York and North Yorkshire
Another 90 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Wednesday, 25 August).
That takes the cumulative case total to 19,674 – giving an overall infection rate of 9,323.6 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days 644 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 30 (-4.5%) week on week.
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 308.0 new cases per 100,000 people (650 cases in the week to 21 August). That’s down from 319.9 in the previous seven days (675 cases in the week to 14 August).
The English national average is 327.6, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 357.6.
There were two coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and five in the last seven days (as at 25 August).
