The A64 has fully reopened following a serious collision near York.

The incident happened opposite Jinnah restaurant at Flaxton at around 8.08pm last night and involved two vehicles.

The road was completely closed for most of the night between the A1237 (near York) and the A169 (near Old Malton). Yorkshire Air Ambulance was called to the incident.

Shortly after 6am this morning the A64 eastbound carriageway reopened. Then it reopened fully at 7am.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact police. Dial 101, press 1 and pass information on to the Force Control Room, quoting reference number NYP-24082021-0479.
