Comedian and TV presenter Jason Manford joined a charity carol singing session at York Railway Station, to the delight of his fellow singers and passengers.
The popular stand up and former One Show presenter, who brought his First World Problems tour to the Barbican last month, was waiting to catch a train. When he saw the choir raising money for the Action Aid appeal to help people in the Philippines hit by the typhoon, he decided to join in.

“So, I was getting the train today from York station when I saw a choir singing away, lovely music and voices, very festive,” said Jason on his Facebook page.
“I had ten minutes to spare so I asked if I could join in. They were raising money for ActionAid, to help in the Philippines. You can hear me, I’m the ridiculously loud tenor!”
He joined in with Silent Night and Joy To The World, and his contribution was much appreciated. “Jason it was such a lovely thing that you did joining in to help those people raise as much as they can for the charity. You maybe a very funny comedian but you also have a heart of gold,” wrote Ann Kerridge on his YouTube page.
