A landmark York restaurant will close within weeks, it was announced today (Monday).
Piccolino, on Bridge Street, will shut for good on 5 September.
Its owner, the Individual Restaurants Company, said it was one of four restaurants out of its 28-venue estate that would close.

Altogether 140 jobs are affected. The company will now start a period of consultation at each of the affected restaurants.
Karen Forrester, executive chair of Individual Restaurants Company, said: “The closure of these sites is part of a long-term investment and development plan for the future of Individual Restaurants.
“Our main priority is to keep our people within our Individual Restaurants family by offering opportunities to relocate to other Individual Restaurants’ locations.
“We will be supporting them throughout this process.”
Piccolino York opened in 2008 in the Boyes building next to the Ouse, after a £1.5 million investment. It was previously home to the Veranda Café.
It has room for 150 diners, plus a private dining room seating 18.
