Saturday update: One area of York now has 20 coronavirus cases

A further 51 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Saturday, 19 June).

That takes the cumulative case total to 12,806 – giving an overall infection rate of 6,080.2 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 216 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up 89 (70.1%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 78.8 new cases per 100,000 people (166 cases in the week to 14 June).

The English national average is 81.3, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 87.1.

There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area reported today, and five in the last seven days (as at 19 June).

In North Yorkshire, there were 81 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 31,021 – an infection rate of 5,019.1 cases per 100K.

There are 1,936 cases in Ryedale (up five), 5,444 in Selby (up 23), 8,012 in Harrogate (up 21), 4,320 in Hambleton (up three), 5,688 in Scarborough (up two), 2,731 in Richmondshire (up 16) and 2,971 in Craven (up 11).

There were no coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 593 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last death was reported on 15 June.

There was one coronavirus patient admitted to the trust on 13 June, and three in the previous seven days.
