A serious collision has closed a section of the A1 in North Yorkshire this morning (Saturday).
The southbound carriageway between junctions 47 and 48 near Boroughbridge is currently shut.
Emergency services are at the scene.

The incident happened at 7.48am today and involved a single vehicle. The driver and passengers of the vehicle are believed to have serious, but not life threatening, injuries.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area.
