Wednesday update: 35 coronavirus cases confirmed across York and North Yorkshire
There were eight more coronavirus case confirmed in York today (Wednesday, 12 May).
That takes the cumulative total to 12,329 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,853.7 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days 39 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – up ten (34.5%) week on week.
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 17.6 new cases per 100,000 people (37 cases in the week to 8 May). That’s down from 18.5 in the previous seven days (39 cases in the week to 1 May).
The English national average is 21.8, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 39.9.
There have been no coronavirus deaths in the City of York Council area in the last seven days.

In North Yorkshire, there were 27 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 30,081 – an infection rate of 4,871.4 cases per 100K.
There are 1,899 cases in Ryedale (no change), 5,168 in Selby (up ten), 7,719 in Harrogate (up seven), 4,223 in Hambleton (up two), 5,603 in Scarborough (up five), 2,648 in Richmondshire (up one) and 2,848 in Craven (up two).
There were no more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.
That leaves the total at 591 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals). The last death reported at the trust was on 21 April.
