Monday update: Positive Covid tests in York fall by 20%

Another 12 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Monday, 15 March).

It takes the cumulative total to 12,064 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,727.9 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 85 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – down 21 (-19.8%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 49.9 new cases per 100,000 people (105 cases in the week to 11 March). That’s down from 45.6 in the previous seven days (96 cases in the week to 4 March).

The English national average is 58.7, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 103.4.

There have been no more coronavirus-related deaths in the York council area, and one in the last seven days (down 1 / -50%).

In North Yorkshire, there were 30 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 28,657  – an infection rate of 4,636.6 cases per 100K.

There are 1,822 cases in Ryedale (up one), 4,664 in Selby (up eight), 7,445 in Harrogate (up five), 4,113 in Hambleton (up three), 5,368 in Scarborough (up six), 2,547 in Richmondshire (up seven) and 2,698 in Craven (no change).

There were no more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today. It is the sixth day in a row that there have been no Covid deaths.

That leaves the total at 580 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
