Saturday update: 18 more coronavirus cases in York

There were 18 more coronavirus cases confirmed in York today (Saturday, 27 February).

It takes the cumulative total to 11,841 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,622 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 149 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – a decrease of one (-0.7%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 77.4 new cases per 100,000 people.

The English national average is 112.6, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 150.7.

There have been no more coronavirus-related deaths in the York council area, and four in the last seven days (down 12 / -75%).

In North Yorkshire, there were 50 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 27,982  – an infection rate of 4,535.5 cases per 100K.

There are 1,786 cases in Ryedale (up four), 4,545 in Selby (up ten), 7,280 in Harrogate (up 18), 4,021 in Hambleton (up nine), 5,287 in Scarborough (up four), 2,465 in Richmondshire (up two) and 2,648 in Craven (up three).

There was one more coronavirus-related death reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That takes the total to 572 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
