Tuesday update: 29 more coronavirus cases in York

Another 29 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Tuesday, 9 February).

It takes the cumulative total to 11,435 – giving an overall infection rate of 5,429.3 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days 257 people in York have tested positive for Covid-19 – a decrease of 142 (-35.6%) week on week.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 140.1 new cases per 100,000 people (303 cases in the week to 5 February). That’s down from 185.2 in the previous seven days (390 cases in the week to 29 January).

The English national average is 212.6, the Yorkshire and Humber average is 181.9.

There have been three more coronavirus-related deaths in the York council area, and 16 in the last seven days (down 11 / 40.7%).

In North Yorkshire, there were 82 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 26,726  – an infection rate of 4,324.2 cases per 100K.

There are 1,678 cases in Ryedale (up six), 4,323 in Selby (up 22), 6,910 in Harrogate (up 26), 3,812 in Hambleton (up ten), 5,123 in Scarborough (up seven), 2,313 in Richmondshire (up ten) and 2,567 in Craven (up one).

There was one more coronavirus-related death reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

That takes the total to 531 across the trust (York and Scarborough Hospitals).
