Two flood warnings were issued for York today (Tuesday).
Flooding is expected for riverside properties next to the River Ouse in York, says the Environment Agency.
It says: “River levels on the River Ouse are forecast to rise due to snowmelt and rain through Monday night and into Tuesday morning, 12/01/2021.
“The River Ouse is expected to continue to rise overnight on Monday, and through Tuesday, with an expected peak at the Viking recorder of between 3.3 and 3.6m on Tuesday evening.”
There’s also a warning for the River Ouse at Naburn Lock: At 5.16am the river level was 2.1m – it is expected to peak between 3.3 and 3.6m on Tuesday evening.
