Monday update: One coronavirus death in York – but cases are still falling
There was another coronavirus death confirmed at York Hospital today (Monday, 23 November).
And a further 37 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York.
This takes the cumulative total to 5,489 – giving an overall infection rate of 2,606.1 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days 282 positive Covid-19 tests have been added to the total in York – a drop of 732 (72.2%). Today’s drop is exceptional as it is when the 702 tests added to the total on 16 November after a recalibration drop out of the weekly figures.
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 137.7 new cases per 100,000 people (290 cases in the week to 19 November). That’s down from 173.3 in the previous seven days (365 cases in the week to 12 November).
At the University of York, there were 37 individuals self isolating due to a positive Covid-19 test today. Since the previous update on Friday it has been notified of 4 new cases, included in that figure.
At York St John University, there were nine people self isolating due to a positive test on Sunday.

In North Yorkshire, there were 115 new coronavirus cases today, taking the cumulative total to 12,614 – an infection rate of 2,040.9 cases per 100K.
There are 674 cases in Ryedale (up seven), 1,981 in Selby (up 16), 3,420 in Harrogate (up 11), 1,636 in Hambleton (up 23), 2,742 in Scarborough (up 32), 931 in Richmondshire (up 18) and 1,230 in Craven (up eight).
There were four more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today – one in York Hospital and three in Scarborough.
That takes the total to 275.
