Video captures armed police on York street

A police incident closed a York street tonight (Tuesday).

Armed officers were called out to Lucas Avenue. Fire crews and an ambulance were also at the scene.

Matty Tomo, who was passing by, live streamed some of the scenes to Facebook.

The incident began at around 5.45pm. North Yorkshire Police said the incident was ongoing at 7.30pm, but there was no threat to the wider public.

Police are currently in attendance at a property on Lucas Avenue, York. Officers are currently working to bring the incident to a safe conclusion. We would like to reassure communities there is no threat to the wider public and thank residents for their patience NYP-06102020-0298
