Another patient with coronavirus has died at York Hospital.
New figures from NHS England today (Tuesday, 6 October) shows that the total number of people who have died within the York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust having tested positive for Covid-19 has reached 215.
Two of the trusts hospitals treat coronavirus patients – York and Scarborough.
And this afternoon a trust spokeswoman confirmed that the latest death, which occurred before 4pm yesterday (Monday), was at York Hospital.
The total had been at 214 since the last death on 18 June, more than 15 weeks ago.
It means there have now been 135 in York Hospital and 80 in Scarborough.
News comes a day after York’s public health director Sharon Stoltz told a City of York Council meeting that the coronavirus rate had ‘massively increased’ in the city.
