A new video shows off York’s stadium like never before.
York City have shared an access-all-areas tour of the LNER Community Stadium at Monks Cross – revealing for the first time the finished changing rooms, hospitality boxes and more.
And you have to say, it looks very impressive – and more than ready to host both City and York City Knights.
It comes as York City said they are hoping to start the season playing in front of crowds – albeit reduced numbers.
“In line with government guidelines we are tentatively planning for a reduced capacity crowd for the start of the season but cannot confirm exact plans at this point,” the club revealed on its website.
“We hope to reveal plans for match day ticket sales soon, along with an exciting new membership option.”
Seeking updates
But whether that season will kick-off at the LNER Community Stadium or Bootham Crescent remains unclear: “We have been made aware from the council that the LNER Community Stadium is almost complete.
“We are eagerly seeking updates from the council and GLL regarding our move to the stadium.
“We are unable to confirm where we will start the new season on 3rd October but we will share new information as and when we receive it.”
The club’s development director Ian McAndrew said last month that it was hoped the team would kick off at the new stadium.
But it still has to be safety certified – which will require test events involving 4,000 people.
