Does York have enough high quality childcare? Is it available where and when you need it? And can you afford it?
Those are the key questions City of York Council is asking in a consultation which launches today (Friday, October 25).
They want mums, dads, carers and parents-to-be in York to be honest about what they think about childcare in the city.
“The council has a responsibility to ensure there is sufficient childcare in York and to do that it’s vital we know what people need and want,” said Cllr Janet Looker, the council’s lead on education, children and young people.
“I’d urge parents and carers to take a few minutes to complete the survey – whether they use childcare or not – so we can work to improve York’s childcare in the future.”
To take part in the survey either:
- go to the Yor-OK website here
- call the council’s Family Information Service on 01904 554444
- pick up a copy of the questionnaire from reception at West Offices
- take part in focus groups around York
The consultation will run until the end of December.
