You wait for one bubble tea shop on Coney Street for ages – and then two come along at once.
The former Fone Hub on the street looks set to be turned into a branch of the T4 Taiwanese bubble tea franchise.
It would serve hot and cold drinks, from tea to shakes to smoothies.
Plans have been submitted to turn the former Fone Hub into a branch of T4.
The 1,000 sq ft ground floor premises was offered on a ten-year lease. It has an annual rates bill of £40,068.
Bubble tea boom
It would be the second bubble tea shop on Coney Street.
As we reported in June, the iconic Burgins Perfumery shop, on the corner of St Helen’s Square, was turned into a Chatime Taiwanese bubble tea outlet.
T4 is a similar franchise operation. Founded in Taiwan in 2004, the name comes from the greeting ‘a cup of tea for you’.
The website says the shops offer “artisan tea prepared for you in small batches, with the temperature and other conditions carefully managed. If it’s not perfect, we make a whole new batch.”
