A car was all but destroyed by fire in York this afternoon.
Firefighters were called out at 3.26pm after the blue Volkswagen Golf caught fire on Field Lane, Badger Hill.
The blaze, sparked when fuel ignited from a ruptured fuel tank, created thick clouds of black smoke.

The York fire crew put out the blaze, but said it caused 80% fire damage to the VW.
Earlier in the day, at 10.54am, firefighters were called to a van on fire on New Lane, Huntington.
The driver of the Renault Trafic managed to pull into a lay-by and all occupants got out safely.
Firefighters said the blaze damaged the engine compartment and cabin.
