Firefighters were called to a blaze in a house in York this afternoon (Thursday, 28 May).
At least two crews were sent to tackle the fire in Newborough Street, Clifton.
Police officers also attended, and taped off the street.
At one point smoke was billowing from near the top of the terraced house, close to York City’s Bootham Crescent home.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus were seen entering the house, while neighbours gathered in the street to watch the drama unfold.
A police officer at the scene said he didn’t think anyone was hurt.
