Congratulations to BBC Radio York presenter Adam Tomlinson and his Breakfast Show team who have come back from the Sony Radio Awards with a gong.
The show was the bronze medal winner in the Breakfast Show of the Year (under 10 million) category at the national awards last night.
Judges said: “Lured by seagulls we winced at the dentist and glimpsed the lives of returning soldiers. This programme is packed with original journalism and presented with character and calm.”
Unfortunately YorkMix missed the show with the seagulls at the dentist, but we often tune in to hear something equally bizarre yet strangely enlightening. And it’s all brought to us by Adam in a way that reassures us that this is quite normal.
For North Yorkshire.
Well done to all the team: Adam; producers Jane Bowes, Allan Watkiss and Nicola Lawrence; news editor Hayley Brewer; the reporting team of Jules Bellerby, Jerry Scott, Jenny Eells, Dave Edwards, Mike Kemp, and Joanita Musisi; broadcast assistants Jack Dearlove and David Tracz; and producers Helen Place, Alice Bailey, Katie Hall and Nikki Brown.
Our favourite moment of the show in the last year? It had to be York City goalie Michael Ingham in his onesie. Imagine him wearing that against Luton…
