Claudia Lawrence will be the subject of Judge John Rinder’s Crime Stories on the eve of the 11th anniversary of her disappearance.
University of York chef Claudia was last heard from on 18 March 2009, , leading to one of the most high-profile missing person cases this country has ever seen.
North Yorkshire Police later launched a murder inquiry.
In the programme Claudia’s parents Peter and Joan Lawrence relive the past decade and tell of the police investigation and review that led to nine arrests and interviews under caution, but still no convictions.
Her friend Jen King and York Press chief reporter Mike Laycock also feature on the programme
‘Shed new light’
According to ITV, Judge Rinder’s Crime Stories “has become a voice for the victims and their families – often families who have nowhere to turn after they lose a loved one to a horrific crime.
“They want to change laws, campaign or seek justice.”
Peter Lawrence said today:
Over the years, there has been much news coverage, articles, books, films and documentaries about Claudia but as yet nothing has come of finding out what has happened to her.
I very much hope that on the 11th anniversary of Claudia missing this programme will shed some new light on this ongoing tragedy and help the family & friends to have answers to the question: where is Claudia?
The programme follows a documentary screened by Channel 5 last December into Claudia’s disappearance.
Judge Rinder’s Crime Stories is on from 2-3pm on Tuesday March 17th on ITV
