A new restaurant is set to open in the old Jamie’s Italian, 11 months after it closed.
The Tomahawk Steakhouse is due to throw open its doors in April. It will include a cocktail bar, champagne and seafood bar as well as the main restaurant.
A refit of the venue, off St Helen’s Square in York, is now being undertaken.
Open throughout the day, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Tomahawk Steakhouses are currently open in seven venues in Yorkshire and the North East.
Director Howard Eggleston said:

We are proud to announce we have signed a deal on the old Jamie Oliver’s in York opposite The Ivy at Lendal Cellars.
This will be the biggest one yet and includes a cocktail bar on the ground floor plus a champagne and seafood bar as well as the amazing steakhouse.
Steakhouse showdown
The opening of Tomahawk’s will set up a steakhouse showdown.
As we reported in November, the former Post Office next door is being transformed into a Miller & Carter steakhouse.
