Issued by City of York Council
City of York Council is advising residents and customers that the recycling point at Clifton Moor (near the former Wickes / Wilkinson) will be relocating from Monday 7 October.
Clifton Moor Ltd remains committed to retaining some provision on-site locally and will continue to provide this facility to the area free of charge
The new location of the recycling point will be between Tesco and Burger King in order to facilitate the redevelopment and wider park improvements.
Provision will still be made for brown, green and clear bottle recycling, carton recycling, a Yorkshire Air Ambulance clothes/shoes recycling unit, a North Yorkshire Moors Railway foil bank and a Heart Foundation fabric recycling unit.
The new recycling area is programmed to be complete and ready to facilitate from 11 October.
To assist customers and visitors to the park, a detailed information point will be placed at the recycling centre which will outline the revised location of the on-site facility.
Recycling points are still available at alternative sites including Towthorpe Household Waste Recycling Centre or Hazel Court HWRC. Recycling points can also be located at all large shopping outlets across the city.
In addition to this, residents can continue to recycle through their fortnightly recycling kerbside collections, and are reminded to present their recycling by 7am on the day of their collection, as the time of their collections may have changed.
Following a recent waste review carried out by the council, 824 households will now benefit from recycling and garden waste collections for the first time.
