An old country pub near York has been transformed into an ‘all-day dining experience’ after a £500K makeover.
As previewed in YorkMix, Twine & Barrel has opened on the A1079 in Dunnington with MasterChef finalist Dan Graham at the helm.
Visitors can enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch, suppers and Sunday lunches all being served alongside an extensive bar menu.
Owners Richard Brosenitz and Roger Mann, who have lived locally for many years, wanted to open a restaurant which offered people an alternative to the many chains currently available.
They have teamed up with local interior designer Rachel McLane, to create the new-look interior which includes log fires, dining areas and cosy corners.
Private parties
A dedicated event space with excellent wi-fi connection is available to book for business meetings, functions and workshops and for special occasions and private parties, with a huge amount of free on-site car parking space available.
Head chef Dan has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry, at one stage working for Albert and Michel Roux Jr. After time spent working abroad he returned to Yorkshire to take over from James Martin as head chef at the Talbot Hotel in Malton.

We want people to visit us and know that whatever time of day it is, they’re guaranteed to be able to enjoy a tasty plate of food, snack or simply a good coffee or beer.
“We wanted to create a space where families, groups of friends and businesses alike could meet any day of the week and enjoy delicious, wholesome local food in a stylish and comfortable environment,” said the co-owner Roger Mann.
