At 0912 hours the Fire Service were called to a sports building full of smoke. Fire engines from York and Acomb and an arial ladder platform responded to the incident.
Upon arrival crews found that there was a fire in the roof. Crews gained access to the roof to identify the start of the fire.
The fire caused approximately one square metre of fire damage to the squash court roof. Fire crews used two hose reels, four breathing apparatus and a positive pressure ventilation fan to deal with the fire.
