We reported earlier this month that popular takeaway King Chips had closed.
Well now its successor is up and running. East To West has moved into the building on Lendal.
It offers a menu including burgers (price £6.99-£8.99), pizzas (£8.99-£12.99) and kebabs (from £9.99).
Run by Wael Mikhaiel, East To West also sells alcohol, including Fosters lager (£3.50 for 440ml), wine (£3.50 for 187ml) and spirits including Gordons Gin (£3.50 for 5cl).
Mr Mikhaiel has applied to City of York Council to change the shop front. Under the plans, it would have a wooden frame and larger window.
Permission has also been sought for an alcohol licence to operate until 3am each night.
